The peeling away of the surface to remove the trauma as the blood has soaked, settled and dried on the layers below. The second layer becomes the holder of the memory. The protective plastic from the work '"...writing his dream inside a rectangle."' became an unexpected artwork in itself. ‘Remnant no. 1,’ is a twenty foot by eight foot piece of thin plastic containing an unjustified pattern of black paint. A skin from the second layer - the container which holds a trace of the story, the memory, and the trauma of passed black and brown bodies in the United States.
